Tough-Truck Competition Empty Submitted rules

Post  A-Stock_#28 July 11th 2009, 05:56

Tough truck:

Stock:
The rules here are pretty simple. Any body style of truck (or even car converted for off-road use) or SUV (Blazer, Bronco, jeeps) will be allowed. The only restriction here is no "rock buggies". It MUST be based on an existing kit body, It must be drove to the event and or have all working lights,wipers,etc.. and be able to be a legal street vehicle.
Modifications are fine, tires are not to exceed 38 inch’s and These things take an absolute BEATING the likes of which no truck was ever meant to see. Also, tough trucks run the gamut from $50 beaters dragged from the woodlot behind someone's house, to $50,000 stadium-style race trucks. it's definitely "run whatcha brung".
Roll cage in stock class is not mandatory but recommended.
Must have a factory seatbelt and passengers are allowed as long as stock or harness type seat belt is worn.
Battery must be in stock position and bolted down. NO BUNGIES OR STRAPS
No loose items in vehicle during race.
Pit must have a working fire extinguisher
Approved helmet must be worn along with a long sleeve shirt

Modified: This is for the bad-dogs. Anything goes. Body style, frame type, all open to your imagination. Want to build a paddle-tired, rear engine unit with an underslung chassis? Go for it. 4WD Funny car? Sure. Use your imagination. the competitors in the 1:1 classes do quite a bit. I've seen everything from a glass-bodied '57 thunderbird to a Chevy s-10 with the engine mounted in the middle, to Fuel-altered type bodies like bantams, t-buckets, and even the occasional chopped Ford Vickie and deuce!
Battery must be in housing bolted down
4 point roll cage minimum
5 point harness
Fireproof suit
Approved helmet
Fuel cell
Must have a kill switch mounted in vehicle

Scott,

I dropped the ball during that fifty lapper, and there are a ton of pictures I wish i had taken, with the stands full, the 21 cars lined up...anyways I had wanted to get someone to video tape it also. Is there anyway I could use that video you guys have of the race? Im trying to find video that I can put on the site, also we have a couple onboard video cameras we are going to start using and put those online eventually as well.

Ya no problem. I will try to send them to you sometime today or tommorrow. I am also putting a cam in my car for the next race and i have someone willing to sit in the infield with a tri pod and camera if we can work that out somehow. At the track I used to run at there were always someone taking pics from the infield and they would sell pics from the previous week at the next race for like 5 bucks. They would take pics of every car in the corners and of course the carnage. I have a very good camera and a printing dock that is portable only thing is the paper and ink to get started with that would be around 75 bucks and as you know i just had to spend my savings to make a rush trip back home which cost me over 2 grand so im kinda taped out right now. Give me a call when you get a minute and well go over a few things.
