RACE FORMAT HAS CHANGED

As of 6/21/09, the KPRL Circle Track Board of Directors passed a vote to no longer hold Trophy Dashs on our scheduled race days. The reason was that too often heat races were being cancelled later in the night because of time constraints. The board will review the issue again in the future and determine if Trophy Dashs can be worked back in. For now all classes will run Qualifying, Race 2 Heats, and then the Feature.

Trophy Dash's are fun to run but when we are continually cancelling heat races so that our races dont run all night long something had to change. When you look at the four races each class was racing every night the trophy dash was the least significant race as it only included 5 cars, and only awarded 5 points to the winner. Another downside of running a trophy dash is that alot of drivers were only getting to race twice per day. By not running trophy dashs some drivers will actually get to race MORE.

What was happening is drivers who did not qualify into the trophy dash were sitting that race out, and then racing one heat, then the second heat would get cancelled, and theyd just run the feature.

We will run the rest of the season with this new format and see how it goes, I think the fans are going to get a better show this way, and alot of drivers will see more laps.

trophy dash's only work good to determin the top qualifiers starting position for a feature with 20+ cars not features with 6 cars. This will give everyone more time on the track.

my opinion is to let the trucks run with their respective class A or B stock to get more entries per class if time is a problem.

DBass I kind of agree, we shouldnt be running 2 car classes, and the trucks should be running with the B-stocks to save time. The truck class would be cool if there were lots of them but there arent. I personally know the driver of the #8 truck is having fun running with the B-stocks because he himself is tired of racing against only one other truck. In my opinion we should change the B-Stock rules to allow trucks. That is just my opinion though....

I agree with Camron on the 2 truck thing. I say if you want to start a class give it 5 races max if there are no more entry's by then its not gonna fly. But as most of you know KPRL is a very political board in my opinoin and we need to be working togather instead of growing as a republican/democrat raceway. But thats my opinion. We all need to be working togather no matter what to make TCR a bigger better orginization. And if something doesnt work it just doesnt work, try something else. Oh ya and i will be standing out of gun range when the thought gets mentioned to Richard. LOL

I dont really want to see the trucks disappear, I just think we add them into the B-stock rules, and if ever we have more trucks then just 2 we could make them their own class again...cause really watching 20 trucks would be sweet.

Two cars racing is boring and it just 'doesn't work'.
